Welcome to the
Amherst Summer Music Center Alumni website
This site is intended for former students and faculty of the Amherst Summer Music Center to catch up with one another, share old stories, pictures, and recordings and remember those wonderful summer days in Maine.
The site is not a finished presentation. We need input from any and all alumni to help fill in the blanks and widen the perspective. The site will change accordingly. Please make all the contributions and suggestions you like.

PLEASE NOTE: It is understandable that some, probably even many members may not feel comfortable with stories, pictures and recordings from their adolescent years and other personal information being presented to the world on the internet. To make sure nobody feels uneasy about participating, we have put many parts of the site behind a password login. Any camper from asmc can get the common login information quickly and easily: just click HERE. |
Well warned by the principle »the best way to make sure a plan fails is to bog it down with as many details as possible,« we have chosen a simplistic web design which we may be augmenting in the future, time allowing. If any ex-ASMC'er is a skilled web designer and wants to help out, please shout.
The site is divided into two main parts: the website and the forum.
- The website will present individual stories, biographies of the faculty, slideshows of pictures from camp, music recordings from the concerts and recitals at camp, and whatever else can be collected from the members. These pages will be built by the site creators based on what they receive.
- The forum is for communication amongst the members. General chatting, posting memories, posting items that can be added to the website pages, basically anything and everything.
Since the ASMC no longer exists, the site membership is by definition a closed group. Some have already left for that one last rehearsal and we want to dedicate space to them.
